Katherine Li

President

Katherine Li’s 30-year career includes leadership and training positions in both the corporate sector and academia. She earned her PhD and MA in International Education and her BA in Asian Studies. Having traveled to over 130 countries, she has a global perspective.

Katherine has an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the International Coaching Federation . In 2021, she founded the Listening Alliance LLC for the work she does as a leadership and communication coach. Through her determination, and the commitment of other like-minded Hawaii-based coaches, the ICF Hawaii Chapter was launched in the Fall of 2023.

Currently, Katherine works as Mediator & Program Development Director at The Mediation Center of the Pacific. Her research interest is on perspective-taking and strategic empathy in conflict coaching and ADR. She is committed to creating a culture of peace through coaching.

Coming from a long line of ship captains on her Norwegian side, she has taken up sailing.

Her hobbies include reading, photography and horseback riding.

Robin Stueber, NBC-HWC, ACC, CPQC

President-Elect and Treasurer

Robin Stueber is an Executive & Wellness Coach, holding credentials from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBC-HWC). As the incoming President-Elect of the ICF Hawaii Chapter, she is committed to building a vibrant, supportive community for coaches. Through her practice, People-Centered Leadership, Robin leverages her expertise in organizational leadership to help individuals and teams make practical, impactful strides in their professional lives.

Her coaching approach is centered on empowering clients to enhance both their wellness and productivity. Robin believes that true success stems from a balance of well-being and effective leadership, and she guides clients—from seasoned executives to emerging leaders—to achieve this harmony. She finds deep satisfaction in watching them develop sharper skills, greater confidence, and improved health as they progress toward their goals.

Robin has collaborated with organizations such as University of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank and Fortune Management, supporting leaders through complex challenges and growth opportunities. These experiences have deepened her commitment to adaptable, people-focused coaching. As she prepares to lead ICF Hawaii, Robin looks forward to inspiring others to pursue their own paths to success, grounded in wellness and productivity.

Mary Lou Song, Ed.D.

Secretary and Director, Membership

Mary Lou Song has a passion for collaboration and innovation. She brings 25+ years of experience in the technology startup sector as a strategy-focused business leader. Throughout her career, she has been on the ground floor of some of the world’s leading startups in ad tech, media, social networking, mobile/app products, and e-commerce.

She also brings 20+ years of experience in the education sector as an adjunct lecturer working with high school, undergraduate, and graduate students in journalism, entrepreneurship, and innovation. She is an Adjunct Lecturer for the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and for the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University

Mary Lou is passionate about supporting leaders who want to develop their skills. She is credentialed in professional coaching at the ACC level with the International Coaching Federation. She specializes in leadership, teams, and continuous collaboration for innovation and organizations.

She serves as Chair of the Board of Advisers for the Medill School of Journalism and Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University, where she earned a bachelor’s in journalism. She holds a master’s degree in communication from Stanford University and a doctorate degree in Leadership & Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University.

Adam Grimm

Director, Marketing & Communications

Adam Grimm’s journey into wellness began during a transformative period in his life, leading to a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force. As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician, Adam served in active war zones and led the response team at Daniel K. Inouye (Honolulu) International Airport, developing resilience and leadership skills under intense pressure. Following his medical retirement in 2021, Adam channeled his experiences into advancing mental health and wellness initiatives in Hawai‘i.

Adam earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where he contributed to the CDC-funded Overdose Data to Action (OD2A)- Care Coordination and Capacity Building (C3) Project. His work focused on combating the opioid epidemic across O‘ahu, Kaua‘i, and Moloka‘i by fostering collaboration among law enforcement, educational institutions, and local organizations.

Adam also served as a research assistant for three years, delving into organizational wellness, lived experience, and preventative care within Hawai‘i’s non-profit sector. Now pursuing his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Hawai‘i School of Professional Psychology at Chaminade University, Adam balances his academic pursuits with his role at Hawai‘i Neuropsychology, where he supports patients with diverse mental health needs.

In addition, Adam is the founder of Pegasus Realm, a wellness research and consulting company dedicated to improving well-being through innovative, evidence-based practices. His work focuses on creating holistic wellness strategies for individuals and organizations, blending research, coaching, and a deep understanding of lived experience to enhance quality of life and foster resilience.

Jim Herman

Director, Partnerships

Jim is a co-founder and managing partner in HonuLei Connection, which is based in Honolulu and provides coaching, leadership training, and consulting on bringing restorative justice to organizations. He retired as U.S. diplomat in 2019. His last overseas assignment was as Principal Officer/Consul General at the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, the largest U.S. consulate in the world with over 900 employees.

Jim knows a bit about transitions: he has lived and worked in eight countries. During his 28-year career as a diplomat he moved 14 times and held 17 different positions, including training positions. After he left the Foreign Service, he and his wife established a new business, he got his Masters Degree in Conflict Transformation, he became a certified coach, and he started a leadership training program.

Jeff Berlin

Director At-Large

Jeff Berlin is a Hawaii-based organizational development consultant and leadership coach passionate about facilitating positive change with individuals, teams, organizations, and communities. Blending a diverse academic background with decades of practical experience, Jeff strikes the balance between deep analysis and the day-to-day realities and needs of business leaders.

For 14 years, Jeff worked as an internal organizational development consultant for a variety of companies, including NASA, Catalyst, Bank of Hawaii, and American Savings Bank. Since 2019, he has been leading his own business, Jeff Berlin Consulting, and is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with people and organizations throughout the state and beyond. He received the distinction of Pacific Business News “40 under 40” in 2021.

Jeff’s academic background includes a PhD in Community and Cultural Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (’15), a Graduate Certificate in International Cultural Studies from the East/West Center (’14), and a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Jose State University (’08).

Jeff is an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and is formally trained in Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching. His specialty areas include leadership coaching and development, team building and coaching, facilitation, training, research, writing, organizational culture, and change management.

He and his wife, Courtney, are happy and humble to live on the ‘north shore’ of Oahu. In their free time, they enjoy being with family and friends, staying active in and out of the ocean, reading, writing, traveling, and listening to their record collection.
