OUR VALUES

“We support professional coaches who are bringing a positive impact to Hawaii through their coaching.”

KULEANA — RESPONSIBILITY AND PRIVILEGE

As ICF Coaches living in and caring for Hawaiʻi, we have both the privilege of belonging to this community of professionals and the responsibility of stewarding our standards and our island home with the utmost care. Our kuleana as members of this ICF chapter is to embody integrity and ethics and to practice a shared commitment to serve the place we call home, intentionally including the community members who descend from this land and the natural resources found here.

COLLABORATION

ʻaʻohe hana nui ke alu ʻia

No task is too big when done together by all.

— ʻŌlelo Noeau 142

We share a commitment to collaboration, grounded by the understanding that together, our efforts uplift the whole and make us better as individuals. As such, we value thought leadership, diversity of perspectives, connection, and intentionally leveraging our collective excellence.

EDUCATION

We value continuous learning and a pursuit of excellence within our artful craft of coaching, prioritizing educational opportunities for development and advancement. We also hold education as a key aspect of building coaching relevance and understanding inside of our communities, as a means of deepening our impact as coaches in the places where we live and practice.

PROFESSIONALISM

We hold ourselves to a rigorous standard of professional excellence, by (1) upholding ICF ethical principles, (2) consistently practicing the ICF competencies, and (3) acclimating our approach to meet the specific client needs, desires, and unique attributes. By creating and consciously living by these standards, we ensure the integrity within our community of coaches to provide a consistent level of quality for the community in which we serve.

SERVICE, HUMANITY, COMMUNITY & EQUITY

As members of this extraordinary community, we recognize and acknowledge the historic conditions that impact the kānaka maoli/Native Hawaiian people whose land we inhabit today. This requires an honest reckoning about the social conditions that limit equal access to support and resources and a commitment to proactively addressing it. We are committed to inclusivity and justice, lifting the barriers to coaching and coach training as a resource to underserved communities and creating strategic partnerships inside of this community that uplift Hawaiʻi as a whole.
